Doug acquired R & R Engineer-Surveyors, Inc. in 1996. He brings a wide variety of expertise to the firm, as he has designed and managed multi-million dollar projects including one acre commercial developments; 20 acre assisted living communities, 100 acre retail commercial developments, 200 acre single family subdivisions, and 800 acre planned, mixed-use communities; as well as large municipal and public projects. Drawing on his 25 years of construction experience, Doug utilizes all the main civil engineering disciplines in his projects, such as: grading, drainage, erosion control and water quality reports/studies. His construction background enables him to thoroughly understand projects, and he combines this with his engineering expertise to provide the best possible solution on a case-by-case basis. Doug is also trained in building systems, structures, construction management, and many computer software programs.
Doug received his B.S. degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Wyoming – with an emphasis in building systems, and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the States of Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. He is also a member of the Consulting Engineers Council of Colorado and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
TONY W. SMITH, PLS (CO) – Director of Survey & COO
Tony has over 17 years’ experience in boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys and aerial mapping control, and currently manages a 15-person, self-sustaining survey department and as COO managing the operations of the company as a whole. His background includes surveys for large commercial complexes, oil and gas facilities, educational campuses, national park lands, railroads and prison sites. He is familiar with both urban and rural surveying environments.
He has an excellent understanding of the logistics required to mobilize field crews into remote or restricted locations. Tony mentors and manages the survey office and field staff while also managing scope, schedule and budgets of land surveying projects. He is also involved with business development, proposals and communications relating to land surveying.
